Before using this website, the User should read carefully the Conditions of Use & Sale below. Browsing and purchasing on this website demonstrate that the User have read and accepted our conditions of use & sale.

This website www.lojadomuseudemarinha.pt is owned by the company Mapa das Ideias - Edições de Publicações, Lda, VAT number 504754408, with its commercial head office at the Loja do Museu Marinha, Praça do Império - Belém, 1400-206 Lisboa.

Mapa das Ideias reserves the right to alter these conditions of use and hiring without prior notice, and to modify at any time the information and commercial offer of its products, prices, promotions, commercial conditions and services. Any alteration will always be published on the www.lojadomuseudemarinha.pt website.

Article 1 – Object

These Conditions define the general conditions of sale between the company Mapa das Ideias, Lda, and anyone who wishes to buy on our website www.lojadomuseudemarinha.pt will be, from now on, referred to as User.
These conditions regulate the steps necessary to carry out the order and guarantee the transaction between the parties.

Article 2 - Orders

To make the first order on the www.lojadomuseudemarinha.pt, the User must register and will automatically be assigned a personal code, valid for all future orders. The loss or forgetting of this number should be communicated to Mapa das Ideias.

At the time of the registration, the User must provide his/her personal data: name, address, telephone, email and VAT number, according to the required fields in the order form.
By placing his/her order, the User confirms his/her acceptance of the general conditions of sale, prices and descriptions of the products contemplated in this transaction.
In the event of unavailability of the product, Mapa das Ideias is responsible for informing the User. If necessary, Mapa das Ideias will reimburse the amounts paid within a maximum period of five (5) business days from the date of knowledge of this unavailability.
The confirmation of the products ordered and the acceptance of the order will be made by email, as well as the order status, dispatch date and expected delivery date.

Mapa das Ideias will only process an order made by a customer after confirmation of payment. Therefore, Mapa das Ideias cannot ensure the availability of items until the beginning of processing.

In the order confirmation email, the User will find an estimated date for delivery of the products, after confirmation of payment. Naturally, the time estimate for delivery may vary according to the carrier chosen and the destination of the order.

Mapa das Ideias only ships orders during working days.

Thus, to estimate the time of delivery of orders, weekends and holidays are not considered. Any delay in the delivery of items - in view of the estimated dates presented - does not confer the right to compensation.
All orders placed on the website are subject to product availability. Mapa das Ideias tries to ensure that all items on the website are in stock. However, Mapa das Ideias reserves the right not to accept any orders or cancel orders already confirmed for products that no longer have stock. If a product is unavailable and/or out of stock, Mapa das Ideias will immediately inform the User of the partial or total cancellation of the order. The User then has the right to the refund of the amount paid.

Article 3 - Delivery Rates and Policies

After the final confirmation of the order and the availability of the ordered products, the order will be sent by carrier to the address indicated by the User.
The User must make sure that someone will be in the address for delivery to receive the order during working hours between 9:00 and 18:00, Monday to Friday. If it is not possible at this time, the User must inform Mapa das Ideias by email or telephone for scheduling the delivery.

Delivery Schedules – Shipments are made by Door-to-Door transportation and the transit time is confirmed via email, depending on the choice of shipping service and according to the delivery address.

Shipping costs – The shipping costs are calculated according to the shipping service (urgent, regular, special) of each order, depending on weight and volume. The shipping values also vary with the shipping address. Deliveries outside the scheduled time may change the amount of the shipping costs.

Door-to-door – Shipments are always made to the User's address, delivered by hand during business hours, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 to 18:00, whether domestic (Continental and Islands) or international.

Fees – Shipments outside Continental Portugal and Islands may be subject to Customs Fees in force in the country of destination and which are not included in the shipping costs.

Insurance – Items with a unit value of more than € 500,00 are subject to additional insurance, with a fixed percentage of 1.15% on the declared value.

For shipments of more than ten (10) units of each item, the User must contact us by email or telephone.

For shipments of personalised items or special order, the User must contact us by email or telephone. Our team will find the most suitable solution for each case.

Deliveries of orders may, in specific cases, be delayed due to stock-outs.

Mapa das Ideias shall not be liable for any default or delay in the compliance of any delivery obligation due to an event of force majeure, that is, an event, act or omission, beyond reasonable control.

Article 4 – Payment Method

Mapa das Ideias offers several options of payment in the website www.lojadomuseudemarinha.pt, so that the User can make his/her purchases with security, using the method that is most convenient:

ATM - When selecting ATM payment, the User will receive an email with the data to make the payment in an ATM machine or through Homebanking. After receiving the data, the User has two (2) days to make the payment, after which the order will be cancelled.

If the User opts for ATM payment, Mapa das Ideias will only initiate the processing of the order after receiving the payment confirmation. For this reason, the User is advised to go to an ATM machine as soon as possible so that he/she receives his/her order at the shortest time. Once two (2) working days have passed since the order was placed, and if Mapa das Ideias has not received any payment, the order will be cancelled.

Credit Card (Visa / Mastercard) - The information of the order and the User card will be sent, duly encrypted, to the bank entity, on the date of the order. The order will be processed after the bank's validation. In the case of refusal, the order will be cancelled.

Paypal - To opt for this payment method, the User must have a Paypal account. The User can create it on the website: www.paypal.com
If the User chooses this payment method, the value of the order will be charged to the User’s Paypal account.

Article 5 – Prices

The prices are in euros (€), with fees and taxes included. The prices presented have into account the VAT applicable at the time of invoice. Any change in the VAT rate will be reflected in the prices of the items.

Any other costs resulting from the sending of orders abroad, such as customs clearance costs, shall be the sole responsibility of the User. Mapa das Ideias informs that the prices practised in www.lojamuseudemarinha.pt are exclusive of the Maritime Museum Online Shop and those may differ from the prices in the physical shop of the Maritime Museum.

Article 6 - Returns and Replacements

The User can return your items fourteen (14) days after receiving them and the refund will be made by bank transfer or PayPal.
If the return refers to an item purchased at a reduced price, due to a special offer, Mapa das Ideias will reimburse the amount actually paid by the User.
The return shipping costs are borne by the User unless the return is due to a defective or damaged item during shipment. In this case, the User must contact Mapa das Ideias to collect it.
The products must be returned under the same conditions of shipment, without any indications of use. All items are examined, photographed and processed before shipping, to ensure the necessary idoneity.

Mapa das Ideias reserves the right to refuse any order, regardless of the reason and free of responsibility for any damages or costs, as well as to cancel any purchase even if it has already been accepted or confirmed, in the following situations:

  • - The information on the invoice is not correct or verifiable;

  • - The order is flagged by the website Security Systems as an incorrect, irregular order, or an order that is susceptible to fraud;

  • - When the transfer of the payment of the order has not been received within two (2) working days after the acceptance of the order;

  • - When it is not possible to deliver the order to the address provided by the User;

  • - If Mapa das Ideias considers that the User did not have the capacity to perform that act;

  • - If Mapa das Ideias finds that there was an error in the presentation of the price of the product(s);

  • If it is assumed that the order comes from a reseller.

Article 7 – Sales Policy

If the information presented does not correspond to the characteristics of the product, the User has the right to terminate the purchase and sale agreement in the applicable legal terms.

The pictures available on the website are merely illustrative. Therefore, Mapa das Ideias recommends the long consultation of the detail of the product to get the most complete information on the respective characteristics of the intended products.

Prices and product specifications are subject to change without notice. Despite the extreme attention of Mapa das Ideias to keep all information up to date, some products may contain an incorrect price. Therefore, Mapa das Ideias will check prices during the processing of the orders. If the price of the product is lower than the advertised one, Mapa das Ideias will refund the difference. If the price is higher, Mapa das Ideias will inform the User by email and will await his/her decision to accept the new proposal or cancel the order.

The catalogue of products of the Maritime Museum Online Shop is independent of the physical shop, in terms of price, products presented and quantities in stock. All promotional campaigns have limited stock and are exclusive to the Maritime Museum Online Shop.

The validation of the purchase request or order assumes that the User is aware of and accepts the General Conditions and Terms of Sale of the website www.lojadomuseudemarinha.pt

All data recorded by Mapa das Ideias is proof of the set of transactions carried out between the Mapa das Ideias and the User, and it is the responsibility of Mapa das Ideias to file the electronic document in which the contract is formalised, keeping it accessible.

Article 8 - Privacy Notice

Treatment of Personal information
In compliance with Law no. 59/2019 of the 8th August  on the Protection of Personal Data, the processing of personal information collected on the website www.lojadomuseudemarinha.pt is the responsibility of Mapa das Ideias, Lda., VAT number 504754408. The data is processed digitally for use in User orders, items shipment and billing. The User has the right to access, rectify, change or delete their personal data.

Whenever changes occur to Mapa das Ideias’s privacy policy, it will be reviewed and updated on this website. This privacy policy was last reviewed on December 1, 2016.

The User may at any time change his/her information in "My Client account".

Cookies are files that are saved on the User’s computer, which are intended to simplify his/her browsing at www.lojadomuseudemarinha.pt (they do not contain viruses or run since they are not active files).

REASONS FOR PROCESSING AND LEGAL FRAMEWORK

The personal data processed on the website and in the shop of the Maritime Museum are:

  • -- Collected during the client/user registration: Name, Postal and billing address, Mobile phone, Telephone, VAT number, Birthdate, Email address;

  • - Obtained by browsing the website: data that identifies the IP address, referring headers, device type, browser and version, log in and account information, including user name, password, preferences regarding marketing and cookies, web beacons and tags (pixel), payment information or on credit card, in this case, always observing the SSL protocol.

  • - Preferences, including wishlist and purchase history;

  • - Information from social networks, including credentials and any information of the user's shareable social profile, suggestions from friends or family.

Why does Mapa das Ideias needs user information? Mapa das Ideias will process the user's personal data, in a manual and/or automated way, for the following purposes:

  • - Customer management: The data collected on this website or in the store of the Maritime Museum are necessary for the execution and conclusion of the sales contract and are intended for processing and information on the status of orders and communication with the User, processing requests for information and possible complaints. Providing the information requested in the scope of User registration is compulsory, without which it is not possible to carry out the above purposes.

  • - Marketing: If the User expressly consents at the time of creation or change of registration, Mapa das Ideias may process the User data to send information about its products, news, campaigns, offers and birthday messages, through any communication channel, namely through the use of postal mail, electronic mail, SMS or other forms of automatic calling.

Consent for the processing of personal data for direct marketing purposes may be revoked at any time as follows:
