MAGNET MARITIME MUSEUM - Bartolomeu Dias
Magnets inspired by the Portuguese Navigators
Bartolomeu Dias was one of the most illustrious navigators of the Portuguese Maritime Discoveries. In 1488 he passed the Cabo das Tormentas (Cape of Torments) as he called it, becoming the first European to achieve this feat. This achievement allowed the creation of a passage that would make the much desired connection between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean.
