Octogonal Compass
The originality of a historical object
An original piece that combines two different objects: a compass and a pocket sundial. This sundial, known as “Diptych”, was worn in the 16th and 17th centuries.
With the compass correctly oriented to the north, the gnomon (wire) projects a shadow that indicates the solar time. Its finely crafted brass lid and decorative motifs match the 19th-century aesthetics, giving it a singular and timeless elegance.
